Spring Attire 1910 - 1980 from Clothing & Textiles Division of the Museum of Texas Tech University
Spring is the theme for this exhibit of garments drawn from over 35,000 pieces in the Clothing and Textiles Collection of the Museum of Texas Tech University. These pieces bring to mind the spring season of light colors and visual joy. They are arranged earliest to most recent, from the beginning of the 20th century to the end. All are vintage and some were worn by females whose names are known and others by everyday ladies.
Selected by the students working in the Clothing and Textiles Division as graduate assistants from the museum studies program and also work-study students, these garments highlight beautiful fashion for spring weather. The Clothing and Textiles Division of the Museum of Texas Tech University is the largest collection of this material at a university in the country. The Come and See programs hosted four times a year, offer a free opportunity to see clothing and textiles collection items up close, without barriers.
The Museum of Texas University is located at 3301 4th Street. Museum hours are Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. -5 p.m., Sunday, 1 – 5 p.m., and closed on Mondays. Admission is free.
